CACEO Members,

As the end of 2019 approaches, I would like to take the opportunity to thank you all for your support and tell everyone about some exciting “behind the scenes” work happening right now. 2020 is shaping up to be even more successful and even busier with the onboarding of a new executive management company, changes to our education program, renewed legislative efforts, a revitalized website and of course our annual training seminar.

Beginning January 2, 2020, The Core Management Company (TCMC) based out of Sacramento will take over CACEO’s executive management duties with William Hixson as our new Executive Director. As TCMC comes onboard, we will say good-bye to Bobrow Associates, Inc., which has handled our executive management duties for the past three years. During that time, CACEO has seen many operational improvements and experienced significant financial and membership growth. We thank Bobrow Associates, Inc. for all their hard work and the guidance they provided to help make CACEO what it is today.

You spoke and CACEO has listened about your educational needs! CACEO’s Education Committee is scheduling classes throughout the state with a new approach to strategically locate classes to reach even more members, especially those in some of the state’s geographically secluded areas. Part of this new approach is the development of an online webinar program that will allow members to attend classes at their office instead of travelling to an offsite location. CACEO hopes to have the first webinar broadcast in mid to late 2020.

Your Legislative Committee is working on new and following current legislation on a variety of topics related to the code enforcement profession. CACEO intends to work with its partners in 2020 to develop meaningful legislation that will provide additional protections to code enforcement officers. CACEO representatives will be at the State Capital during the Annual Legislative Days event fighting for our member’s safety!

Our website is getting a makeover! Association management has been working with our Communications and Marketing/Membership Committees to revitalize CACEO’s website. Members will experience an updated and more user friendly website with access to association news, events and resources. We hope to launch the new website soon after the start of the New Year.

Last, but certainly not least, CACEO’s Annual Seminar will be held in October at the Resort at Squaw Creek in beautiful Olympic Valley, California. The resort is at the base of Squaw Valley, which was home to the 1960 Winter Olympic Games. To say you are going to be blown away by this location would be an understatement! The Seminar Committee is planning what we are expecting to be one of our best seminars yet, with a special surprise for all those in attendance. Registration will fill up quickly, so keep your eyes open for future updates on the CACEO website and register early.

Thank you all again for a great 2019 and for what looks to be an even greater 2020 for CACEO. Happy Holidays to you all and we will see you in 2020!
